Partridge Barn

An Oak framed Barn, set deep within Rural Sussex

Project Progress

A recently converted oak framed Barn, set deep within Rural Sussex

With rolling hills of far set countryside views, this holiday let building lacked an immediate connection between landscape and building.

CL started with an overall design for the blank canvas site surroundings.

This stage was PHASE 1 of 3, It was important to create an obvious route from Gate entrance to Front door, we achieved this by building a traditional brick path with header and stretcher bond features.

The entrance to the property has been carefully ramped to ensure access is achievable for all, the raised brick-built beds have been curvaceously designed to offer a home for the olive, lavender and spherical Box Hedging of varying sizes.

The internal living space opens up to a rustic Larch decking, via full length bi folding doors.

The curved deck is boarded by the wall that wraps around and forms a further raised brick bed, this area has been planted up to achieve a screening, to what will be a parking area in Phase Two.

We look forward to the further stages of this overall design.
