Circular Larch Deck & Fire Pit Retreat – Garden Transformation Project
Location: Battle, East Sussex
Project Value: £80,000
Design & Build Duration: 8 Weeks
Set in the historic town of Battle, East Sussex—famous as the site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings—this premium landscaping project transforms a rural garden into a unique outdoor sanctuary. The design features a striking circular deck constructed from high-quality Siberian larch, chosen for its durability and rich, natural tones.
At the heart of the space lies a sunken fire pit area, enclosed by curved yellow brick seating with integrated timber benches and concealed log storage. Four raised planting beds add softness and structure, featuring clipped Buxus and fragrant lavender. A gravel surface within the fire pit ensures both comfort and effective drainage.
The precision-laid larch decking is outlined with yellow brick detailing that echoes the forms of the built elements, unifying the scheme. Surrounding the central feature are curved gravel paths, sweeping lawns, a modern timber-clad garden building, and a pergola retreat with hot tub—together creating a fully integrated, high-spec garden environment.
Captured through aerial and ground-level photography, the project highlights exceptional craftsmanship and spatial harmony, delivering a bespoke outdoor lifestyle space grounded in a location rich with English heritage
