Maple Hurst Makeover

Project Progress

A repeat client whom had a tricky Site & landscape design brief Requiring the following -

- A low maintenance but attractive space to entertain & provide space for relaxation

- No loose stone & dog friendly

- Accessible and practical for all users

- No access for excavator

- Concrete, Type 1 MOT and rubble existing ground cover

CL took each of these constraints and used them to our advantage to reconfigure the lower section of our client’s garden.

The design all stems from the dominant Horse Chestnut, We took influence from the trees overhanging canopy, By offsetting a series of organic curved lines, outwards from the trunk.

The majority of space is consumed by a Douglas fir rustic deck, including bespoke semi-circle bench

A second arced area has been finished with a charcoal grey self-binding gravel.

The third section is a small extension of lawn spilt with an oak edging, that blends into the existing garden, helping to soften the bold design and ensure continuity between spaces.

A curved boardwalk bridge connects each space.

Existing raised beds have been clad using the Douglas fir planks.
